Collaborator in the Portuguese Communities ID Card

Citizens that pursue a journalistic activity in news outlets based abroad for the Portuguese communities living in those countries, have the right to an identifying license, which will allow them to have access to sources and bonds them with the ethical duties of journalists

 

Granting and renewing

The collaborator in the Portuguese communities ID card is applied for by the applicant. It is valid for two years from the moment it is granted and its renewing is submitted by the applicant in the month before the card expires.

 

If the journalist stops working as a collaborator, he/she must inform the CCPJ about it and return the card. If the correspondent fails to meet this obligation, he/she will be notified to return the card.

  

How to submit the application

The applications for granting and renewing the professional licenses can be directly submitted online via the Private Area.

The other options are to personally submit the applications at our office (Rua Artilharia 1, n.º 107 1099-502 Lisbon), by e-mail (carteira.press@ccpj.pt), registered mail or fax (+351 213 221 229).

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1) Granting:

 

a) Form duly filled in and signed;
b) Copy of the applicant’s personal identification card;
c) One passport photo;
d) Document issued by the news outlet based abroad stating that the applicant is its collaborator and in which area;
e) Payment.

 

2) Renewing:

 

a) Form duly filled in and signed;
b) One passport photo (every five years);
c) Document issued by the news outlet based abroad stating that the applicant is its collaborator and in which area;
d) Payment.

 

3) Replacement card:

 

a) Form duly filled in and signed;
b) Payment.

 
4) ID card termination:

 

a) Form duly filled in and signed;
b) Collaborator in the Portuguese communities ID card.

 

 

All the applications mentioned above can be directly submitted in the CCPJ online platform.
